We crossed into Canada at Nelway. Keith was asked several questions about guns. The guy said most Americans who own guns carry one with them. Not us. Here we go into Canada!
Located on Upper Arrow Lake, a portion of the Columbia River, Nakusp invited me each morning to take a quiet walk before the hustle & bustle of the day began.
Horizons Unlimited Travelers Meeting
Keith shared more about this topic in the blog post. This sign was at the entry of the event and it was TRUE! Our trip was no big deal compared to the tales and dreams of the travelers at this event. We were inspired and we inspired, information & fun all rolled together.
I was doing the happy dance after meeting Javier and Isabell from Mexico City. After looking at the map of Mexico with them, I want to go there now, now, now!
It was time to have some coffee & breakfast and leave Nakusp!
Keith diligently typing the blog post at our Cedar Lake (near Golden BC) camp spot.
Super Hero Pose!
9-year old Alex struck a super hero pose for me on this ingenious raft that will become a diving dock and fishing boat later in the day. Taken at our camping spot at Cedar Lake outside Golden BC.
Epic Rope Swing!
We got a kick out of watching young, dare devils swing from about 40' high up on the hillside to splash into the lake. I laughed harder when a girl absolutely refused to let go and was finally rescued by her buddies. (That would have been me!)
There were tons of mosquitos at Cedar Lake! I unfashionably concocted the best protection I could imagine to keep the little blood suckers off me. I attempted a crazy look to go along with Keith's description of what I looked like. Sometimes not having a mirror is a good thing.
Lake Louise was...
swarming with tourists! A friend we ran into from the Nakusp event, took this photo of us.

Takakkow Falls in Yoho National Park
The nice shot :)
Smoke, Smoke, and more Smoke
This shot is from our campground at Mosquito Creek (no mosquitos thank goodness) about 20 miles from Lake Louise.
Unbelievably Clear Water
Taken at Mosquito Creek Campground.
Camping at Mosquito Creek Campground was COLD at night and in the morning. Keith thought I looked like a soldier!
Day Ride to Jasper
We camped at Mosquito Creek for 2 nights and took a day ride to Jasper a couple of hours away. The Canadian Rockies were stunning. On the Lake Lousie side of the Columbia Icefield it was smokey and on the Jasper side, it was clearer.
More of Day Ride to Jasper
Columbia Icefields were...WOW!
This is taken on our day ride to Jasper.
Favorite Mountain Shape
I LOVED the slant of these mountains. They looked fake. ~Jalene
Dinner from Jasper
At Mosquito Creek, believe it or not, we were allowed to have a camp fire. In Jasper we bought steak, corn, green beans, and red wine. So far, I like creatively making dinner with 1 pot and 1 pan.
Banff was cool but we didn't spend much time there because we were excited to see our friend Loni in Calgary.
